The Little Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1950 to serve the residents of Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey. We are located between Princeton and New Brunswick in Central New Jersey. For the last 59 years the all volunteer fire company has been growing to meet the needs of the community. At this time we have the knowledge and equipment to handle anything from cellar pumping to vehicular extraication and good intent to structure fires. We also maintain a tanker pumper for areas that are not serviced by city water.
Our staff includes First Responders who are trained in basic first aid, CPR and defibrillators.
As with all volunteer fire companies, we are in need of more volunteers to better serve the community. We offer fire training, all equipment and personal protection gear along with other incentives, including a LOSAP Pension Plan and life insurance.
To become a Firefighter you must be 18 years of age( Junior firefighters can be 16 years of age but must have parental permission and are restricted in what they can do), pass a physical and complete Fire Fighter 1 classes. We also need members who may not want to or able to fight fires but still would like to help out in serving the community with no responding responsibilites. Also located at our fire station is the Little Rocky Hill Ladies Auxiliary, which is and independent organization which helps support the fire company and other charities.
